"When
I cry unto Thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know;
for God is for me." Psalm 56:9
What
a comforting thought. You
can face the New Year with confidence knowing:
God Is For You! "
He
was "for us" before the worlds were made; or He would
not have given His beloved son; "for us" when He laid
the full weight of His wrath upon Him - when we were rebels
against Him; He was "for us," when we were ruined in the
fall - or He would not have made provision for our restoration. He
has been "for us" in many trials and struggles; that we
have encountered; -or how could we have remained unharmed to this
hour? He is "for us," with all His being; with all His
love; with all the infallibility of His wisdom; "for us"
throughout eternity.
And
because He is "for us," the voice of prayer will always
ensure His help. "When I cry unto Thee, then shall mine
enemies be turned back." That is a promise you can rest in.
This is no uncertain hope, but a well-grounded assurance "this
I know." I will direct my prayer unto You, and I will
look up from where my help comes from, assured that it will
come, and that every enemy shall be defeated in 2004,
"for God is for me."

how happy are you to know that the King of Kings is on your side!
If God be for You, who can be against You?
