Is
your labor up the hill of your own works and down into the canyon
of your own humiliations and resolutions, or do you run by the
plain way of "Believe and Live"? How blessed is it to
wait upon the Lord by faith! “For he that waits upon the Lord
shall renew his strength and mount up with wings as eagles…”
You can run without weariness, and walk without fainting, in the
way of believing.
Christ
Jesus is the way and truth of life, and His way is a
pleasant way; a holy way that that the wayfaring man, though a
fool, shall not err therein. Am I found in this way, or am I
always chasing after another track such as the branch of
philosophy? By God's grace you shall outrun the strongest runner who
chooses any other path. Your
wisest choice would be to go directly to God at once and not
wander about from this person to that.
No middleman is needed; you have access through the blood
of Jesus Christ to approach Him directly with your daily cares and
needs. He knows your
wants and He alone can relieve them! Hasten to the master
"Straightforward makes the best runner."
Run
so that you may obtain. Gird up the loins of your mind, and press
forward towards the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus.
