I am reminded of a verse in Nehemiah 4, "When I saw their faces, I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people: 'Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord is Great and Awesome...'"
Fear can be contagious and the first thing Nehemiah did to combat fear and discouragement from running rampant was to call
a "Time Out."
Any good coach knows that when the opposing team is gaining ground, you call a Time Out to allow your team to regroup. For America and God's
people, it is time to refocus! Calling a time out is a step in the right direction, but you must use it to remind yourself of God's Greatness and Might. Start right now by stirring yourself up regarding His promises and His faithfulness.
Let's
get our focus off our challenges and onto God. Let's stop for a moment and remember the Lord! Right Now - bring God into the picture and put fear and discouragement on the run!
Be
encouraged: we all face discouragement from time to time as we endeavor to conquer life's mountains. But if you are alert to detect its early warning signs and diligent to uproot it as soon as it comes, soon you will be moving back up that mountain and enjoying the
magnificent view from the summit.
